The latest news and press from Thesleff Group

"Los Mochis co-owner Markus Thesleff sees it as a way to help retain staff - no small thing post brexit - plus alleviate pressure on the NHS, and also make the restaurant industry look a little more like other industries in terms of benefits. It's costing him about £40k a year so far, but, he says, "it's the right thing to do."

In Knightsbridge, one of the city’s most iconic red sauce eateries, Sale e Pepe, is hitting its full stride after 48 years in operation. The cozy Italian kitchen was just taken over by the Thesleff Group (the same folks behind Los Mochis and Viajante87, two of Notting Hill’s hottest F+B outposts). They’ve kept many of the classics intact, including the gargantuan Veal Milanese.

One of the hottest new openings in the capital? Viajante 87, a Mexican-Japanese gem hidden underneath bustling Notting Hill Gate, which comes from the team behind the nearby fusion restaurant Los Mochis. With moody lighting, plush banquettes and artwork courtesy of the Mexico City-born Oms Rocha, the intimate space exudes understated glamour, while its dedicated mixology lab whips up innovative cocktails.

Already a firm favourite for evening cocktails over tacos and sushi (the Baja-Nihon dishes draw on both Mexican and Japanese cuisine – to surprisingly winning effect), Los Mochis is now delighting lucky locals with a vibrant new breakfast menu.

Taking inspiration from the same pan-Pacific countries as its sister restaurant, the vibe here is an Agaveria-come-Izakaya. Squirrelled away down a dark staircase, this intimate hideout is a creative haven: low-mood lighting, a back-lit bar made of recycled glass and an undulating feature wall made entirely out of cork.

Sale e Pepe is Knightsbridge’s own little slice of comfort and charm: you’ll dine the first time as a guest, and return the second, third, fourth as family.
